ServSafe® Food Safety Certification

ServSafe® Food Safety Manager Certification

The ServSafe® program provides food safety training, exams, and educational materials to food service managers. Individuals can earn the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification, accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)-Conference for Food Protection (CFP), which is valid for five years, and recognized by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.   

The program blends the latest FDA Food Code, food safety research, and years of food sanitation training experience. Managers learn to implement essential food safety practices and create a culture of food safety. All content and materials are based on actual job tasks identified by food service industry experts.  

Trust the only food safety program with roots in the food service industry to help you protect customer health, improve employee performance, and preserve business reputation. Motivate employees to follow safe and sanitary food-handling practices. Participants who pass the exam will receive their industry-wide acknowledged ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification.

Through a third-party vendor, the PRLA regularly holds ServSafe training classes throughout the Pennsylvania. 

Class Options

PRLA, through our program administrator HR Food Safe, offers several class options to ensure you and your staff have convenient certification options. The Live-Class option runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. All tests must be taken at a class location, as required by law.
  • ServSafe® Manager Book via Priority Mail, Study Portal Access, Live Class, and Written Exam at class $155 (plus S&H)
  • ServSafe® Manager Book via Priority Mail, Study Portal Access, Live Class, and Online Exam at class $165 (plus S&H)
  • ServSafe Manager Online Course and Online Exam at class $185 
  • Exam Only (no class or training materials) $99 (you will be notified via email test-only arrival times)
Private classes for 10 or more students available to come to you! Day, night, or weekend, we can work with your schedule.
