Resources Available for ProStart Educators 2021 ProStart Passport released:
The 2021 Collegiate ProStart Passport includes information about post-secondary schools across the country that offer college credit and/or scholarships to ProStart students who have earned the ProStart National Certificate of Achievement (COA). The credits and scholarships listed in the Passport are available to any ProStart student with a COA, regardless of residence, although out-of-state tuition may apply. Webinar - 2021 ServSafe and Foundations Exam Processes: We recently hosted a webinar with Liz Rice from the NRAEF to review the online processes for ServSafe classes and Foundations Exams. You can view the recording HERE. PRLAEF Scholarship Program: The PRLA Educational Foundation Scholarship application period for the 2021-22 school year is now open. New for 2021, the PRLAEF Scholarship program will be awarding twelve $2,000 scholarships. To be eligible for the scholarship program, student must be a Pennsylvania resident who is either a graduating high school senior or currently enrolled at an accredited post-secondary institution for the 2021-22 school year, in a hospitality or culinary arts program. PA ProStart Invitational 2021 (Virtual)The Pennsylvania ProStart Competition will be conducted virtually in 2021. See the eligibility, rules, and registration form below.
ProStart National Certificate of AchievementThe ProStart National Certificate of Achievement (COA) is an industry-recognized certificate that signifies a solid foundation in the basic management and culinary skills considered critical to success by industry leaders. ProStart students are eligible to earn their COA after passing “The Foundations of Restaurant Management and Culinary Arts” Level 1 and Level 2 exams, documenting 400 hours of work experience, and demonstrating proficiency on more than 50 workplace competencies. By earning the COA, students gain access to national and statewide articulation agreements and scholarship opportunities. Information on the COA, and step-by-step instructions on how your students may earn it are linked below.
