Job Title: Service Manager Department: Service Reports to: Director of Operations Position type: Full time
Position Summary: The Service Manager supervises the serving of food and beverage according to the budgeting outline prepared by management in a pleasing manner to satisfy guests and foster repeat patronage.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Hire, train, supervise and dismiss all dining room personnel in consultation with management.
Serve as Dining Room Manager/Manager on Duty.
Manage the bar by handling inventory of liquor and ordering supplies.
Oversee the booking, planning and carrying out of functions and banquets.
Problem solve for any unhappy customers.
Circulate the room and talk to customers to ensure the best possible customer service.
Deal with all issues that arise within the service department.
Supervise the timely preparation of food and beverages so the dining area is prepared to open on time for all scheduled performances.
Supervise the set-up and maintenance of the dining room.
Run pre-shift meetings for motivation and communication of new items, products or service techniques.
Supervise seating and assist in seating of customers in a timely and pleasant manner.
Assist service staff in any duty necessary during service (serving, hosting, bussing, bartending).
Manage money for service staff, service bar, lobby bar and server envelopes with safe money.
Complete Manager on Duty reports at the end of each shift.
Attend staff meetings.
Schedule hosts, bussers, servers and bartenders and handle all schedule changes and on calls.
Conduct Service staff meetings during changeover when necessary.
Compute any new items and prices into Micros system.
Create new specialty drinks for each mainstage show and maintain pricing on these and all other beverage service to optimize sales and profitability.
